I am passionate about music education, and I teach students of all ages, from beginner to advanced levels. At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that every student is unique, and I tailor my lessons to help students achieve their individual goals. My students participate in recitals and festivals, and I offer a free monthly “listening club” to my students, where I talk about a piece of classical music before the group listens to it together — a great community building experience!
Lessons for Children and Youth
Structured music education offers many benefits to a child’s development. It contributes to cognitive development and academic success, while giving children an expressive outlet. I teach using a variety of curricula, including the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the program offered by the École de Musique Vincent d’Indy. My students have completed RCM exams with marks of First Class Honours, and First Class Honours with Distinction, and had success in local festivals. Whether students choose to take exams or not, I help them all find pieces that are musically fulfilling, appropriately challenging, and most important of all, fun!
